Dökme Recipe
Dökme is a traditional and easy-to-make delicacy, especially enjoyed at breakfast with its soft texture and simple preparation.
Servings: 6–8 people
🛒 Ingredients
2 cups yogurt
2 eggs
1½ teaspoons baking soda
Juice of half a lemon
Flour (as much as needed to reach the right consistency)
For frying:
Vegetable oil

Prepare the Batter:
In a bowl, mix all the ingredients except the flour until well combined.
Gradually add flour while stirring. The batter should be thick enough to slowly drop from a spoon, but not runny.
Frying:
Heat vegetable oil in a pan. Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil.
Fry on both sides until golden brown. Transfer the fried dökme onto paper towels to remove excess oil.

The batter should not be too runny; a thicker consistency ensures the inside cooks properly.
In the region, it is commonly served drizzled with honey.
